This syndrome is when a divorced or divorcing parent seeks to punish the other parent by alienating them from their children, and in turn, harming their children and themselves. Though most commonly called Malicious Mother Syndrome, both mothers and fathers are capable of such actions; hence, also called Malicious Parent Syndrome.
