Subhannallah

The expression “subhannallah” is very commonly used but what does it actually mean? Subhan comes from the root word sabaha which means 'to float'. It is something floating above the water and is also separate from it. In the Quran, it is used to mean that Allah is pure and free of the many things that are falsely attributed to Him.
