MAS-ICNA 2013: "Day to Day Fiqh Challenges" - Jamal Badawi (Part 1 of 2)

The majority of ulema have defined qias as the application to a new case (far'), on which the law is silent, of the ruling (hukm) of an original case (asl) because of the effective cause ('illah), which is in common to both. Islam is the last Divine message and Quran is the last book therefore, Islam should be able to address the needs of people across space and time till the Day of Judgment. How can we understand and apply the Analogical Reasoning (qias) to find a ruling for our day-to-day Fiqh challenges so we can manage our life following the Guidance of Allah?
