About:
Barakah Hills tells the story of the Abdullah family and their everyday experiences in the town of Barakah Hills. It is a small town with a predominantly Muslim population. The masjid is the central hub of the town with Imam Nouradeen as the community leader and role model.

We experience Barakah Hills through the eyes of the two Abdullah children, Laylah and Omar. They spend their days playing with friends, visiting their grandparents’ farm and engaging in a number of fun and Islamic activities at the masjid. Imam Nouradeen is their mentor as well as their friend. He shows them how to be good Muslims and inspires them to be active members of their community.

Barakah Hills represents an ideal Muslim community and is targeted to a post-toddler, pre-school demographic of children. The show’s main objective is to show children what it is like to be a practicing Muslim as well as a good citizen in their community. Instead of trying to preach Islam and Shariah law and practice, Barakah Hills uses the hadiths and characteristics of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) as the prototype for not only being a good Muslim but also a good human being. Children will learn everything from how to have good manners, to how to get actively involved with community projects. The way they learn is not through strict regimented lessons but through seeing how Laylah and Omar, and the supporting characters, do things. Essentially, the viewers will be learning by example. This makes for an educational, engaging and most importantly, fun children’s show.

Barakah Hills blends simple 2D animation with a bright palette of colors and exciting voice work to create an atmosphere that is joyful and inviting to the viewer. The show will contain many moments of humor and silly mistakes by the characters that lead them to learn new things as well as entertaining the viewer. Each episode will be around 5 minutes long so as not to overstretch the attention span of the target audience. This length will also allow for one main theme and lesson per episode, making it easier to understand and process for the target audience.
