Nelson Mandela was perhaps the most universally beloved human of our generation. Why was this the case? And what should our role be as Muslims when someone who was not of our faith yet was so beloved dies?

In this talk, delivered a few days after Mandela's death, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses the permissibility of praising people of other faiths for their worldly struggles, and the lessons that can be derived from the life and times of Nelson Mandela.
