Islam promotes mutual cooperation for the common good and rejects isolation and passiveness (Al-Emran 3:104) and (Al-Hujuraat 49:13). Muslim Americans need to positively engage in public affairs at all levels; neighborhoods, schools, local governments, civic and interfaith groups, and political activism. Muslim Americans must advocate social justice, support civil rights, align public policies, and contribute to sound government legislations.
