Right when the Ummah is at its weakest, the Kuffaar stir up another controversy. “The Independent” (and other newspapers) allege that the Saudis have been planning to move the Prophet’s grave to some other location. Verily! This is a great lie!
{O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done.} [Surah al-Hujuraat (49): 6]
Narrated Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “It is sufficient that a man has lied who narrates everything that he hears.” [Imaam Muslim in the introduction to his Saheeh]
The fact of the matter is, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم died in the place where he was destined to be buried:
`Aaishah رضي الله عنها narrated: When the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم died, they (the companions) disagreed over where to bury him. So Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم saying something which I have not forgotten, he صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Allaah تعالى does not take (the life of) a Prophet except at the location in which He تعالى wants him to be buried.” So they buried him at the spot of his bed. [Sunan al-Tirmidhee (1018) and graded as “Saheeh” by Shaikh al-Albaanee]
So, no matter how much Saudia is against grave/saint worship, they will not go against this Hadeeth and they definitely cannot afford to risk the hatred that it will generate. They did not remove the dome, so how can they remove the grave?
The only time someone tried to remove the grave of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم were the Kuffaar themselves who had disguised themselves as Muslims (this incident is mentioned in some of the Books of History).
People should really be careful of what they read and what they spread. For the instructions of Allaah تعالى are clear:
وَلَوْلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ قُلْتُم مَّا يَكُونُ لَنَا أَن نَّتَكَلَّمَ بِهَـٰذَا سُبْحَانَكَ هَـٰذَا بُهْتَانٌ عَظِيمٌ
{And why did you not, when you heard it, say: "It is not right for us to speak of this. Glory be to You (O Allah) this is a great slander."?} [Surah al-Noor (24): 16]
