From the Annual Australian Islamic Conference 2010
"FAMILY MATTERS: Foundation for Success"

The family is the cornerstone of this Ummah. By nurturing our families to be visionary, pious, confident, self-sufficient and selfless we are all able to contribute to uplifting the status of this Ummah. Put simply, the Family Matters! because it is the institution through which success in this life and the next is built.

In tackling the theme of Family, this year's AAIC addresses three sub-themes:

Marriage!
What does it mean? How do you select a spouse? What are the rights and responsibilities of each spouse? What are the keys to a successful marriage in Islam?

Children!
How do we raise them? What vision should we have for them? How can we teach them to be proud of their Muslim identity and be ambassadors of Islam? How can we as parents become the best of role models?

Knowledge!
What is its link and importance to the family? Why seek it? What should we be seeking? How do we incorporate it into our day-to-day lives?

By the end of the conference it is our intention that every individual will come away inspired, spiritually re-energized, and armed with essential knowledge and practical tools to make positive changes within their families and lives.
