Towards a Renaissance: Believe, Act & Engage by Sh.Yusuf Estes

We believe in the ability of Islam, as the final Divine Guidance, in bringing about Renaissance whenever adopted wholeheartedly. Muslims believe that Islam is a religion which is intact for every time and place. (الاسلام دين صالح لكل زمان ومكان) Through the theme of the convention this year, we are trying to draw a road map for working towards the"Renaissance/Revival/Awakening" which our American Muslim community and our global Muslim Ummah are aspiring for. Like the first Islamic civilization, the prospective Islamic renaissance should serve the well being of the whole of humanity. Our endeavors and efforts in pursuit of Renaissance should be Islamic by nature, which should be built on the correct and unshakable Belief in Allah and following His Divine Guidance. Islam inherently ties "belief" to "action,"and this is why it is hard to find the segment mentioned in the Quran "Those who believed" without being shadowed by "and did good." Participating in a constructive plan of "action" is an obligation, which was confirmed in many parts of the Quran. The tasks and challenges facing the American Muslim community are beyond the capability of a single Muslim organization to handle in seclusion of others. Therefore, we believe in the necessity of collective and collaborative work. All segments of the Muslim community, American society,and generally humanity, need to work together in order to achieve a common good on earth.
