Teenagers today of all faiths and backgrounds are dealing with parental and school pressures, while still trying to overcome peer pressures and ensure self worth, on a daily basis in a post 9/11 era. Omar Zia, Curricular Head – Student Services at Thomas L. Kennedy Secondary School in Mississauga, with the Peel District School Board. He advises and works with teenagers in his capacity as a Guidance Counsellor and delivers parenting, family and youth workshops from the Islamic lens. We hear what he has to say about teenage stresses and how the best way to approach them – from the both the teenager and the parent's perspective.
