The Laamiyyah of Ibn Taymiyyah
O One who asks regarding my madhab and aqeedah * Indeed, guidance is bestowed upon one who sincerely seeks it
Listen to the words of one well-versed in his discourse * Shifting not even an iota [from the truth] nor retracting it
Love for all of the companions is my madhab * And through love for the family of the Messenger of Allah I strive to come closer [to Allah]
And each one of them has their own status and virtuous rank * But indeed Abu Bakr as-Sideeq is the most virtuous of them all
And I affirm all of the verses pertaining to Allah's attributes * as they have been transmitted in truth from the pious predecessors
And I return any issue to the understanding of the transmitters * and I defend them from all forms of conjecture
Disgraced is one who throws the book of Allah behind his back * and when asked for evidence says "Akhtal said"
And the believers will see their Lord in truth * and to the lowest heaven He descends without howness
And I believe in the Meezaan and the Hawd which * I hope to be from the people whose thirst it will quench
And likewise [I believe in] the bridge stretched over Hellfire * Thus, the Muwahid will be saved and the others forsaken
And the fire will roast the wretched by Divine Wisdom * and thus, the pious will be blessed to enter the Gardens
And every being will endure the life of the grave * his deeds will be his companion then and he will be interrogated
This is the aqeedah of Shafi'i and Malik * And Abu Hanifah, and then what Ahmad transmitted
So if you follow their path then you are successful * But if you innovate then you have nothing to rely upon!
