The great American dream, in fact the dream of just about everyone among mankind is to live a richer and fuller life of personal happiness and material comfort. A life filled with wealth and pleasures following every desire of the body that the mind can imagine and the heart can yearn, always wanting more to satisfy one's physical needs whilst totally neglecting any aspect of spirituality and closeness to the Creator.

​Allah (swt) gives a parable of such people in the Qur'an: ​"...he adhered to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he (still) pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs." ~ [Surat Al-'A`rāf, verse 176]

Indeed, there is no greater humiliation than being enslaved to our own bodily desires like a lowly animal, and there is no greater honour than being a humble worshipper and slave of Allah - the Creator of the Heavens and the earth.
