Title: Prophet Muhammad: The First Capitalist? Part 1
This event took place at King College (London) and organised by The Islamic Finance and Ethics Society (IFES).
The event will touch upon themes like; the traditional Islamic ethics of business, entrepreneurship and Islamic market reform. These focuses will be further illustrated with examples from the Prophet Muhammad (SAW); in particular the Prophet’s economic and market perspective.
The event aimed to provide a holistic summary of the relationship between early Islam and capitalism and commerce.
Background of the Speaker:
Dr. Benedikt Koehler was born in New York and raised in Germany. He obtained a BA in History from the University of Yale, an MsC from City University and a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Tubingen.
