Episode 6.2 is the second of four episodes of the topic ''Political Participation and Western Muslims'' in the series ''Living Islam in the West''. This episode explains the features of the Islamic political system. This is discussed because many who have a negative attitude towards political participation have not understood the nature of Islam or the nature of the political system, and when you focus on only one element of a discussion, you will come up with a wrong conclusion.

Throughout this series we will go through the challenges that Muslims in the West face. Islam is constantly under pressure from the media and Muslims are alienated if they do not leave their religion or the practice of it. This series will provide you with solutions to the challenges facing western Muslims. We will go in depth about what your priorities as a Muslim in the West should be. We will go through how you can serve Islam in the best way here in the West. You will inshaAllah be equipped with the necessary knowledge to keep your faith alive and please Allah so you can enter Jannah, inshaAllah.

The series is directed by Dr. Haitham Al-Haddad who lives in London. The Shaykh has been studying the Islamic sciences for over 15 years with a special interest in Islamic law and legal theory having graduated with a BA in Islamic Law. He went on to write his doctoral thesis on Islamic jurisprudence in reference to Muslim minorities and was awarded a PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London). Dr al-Haddad has studied under the tutelage of various senior scholars such as the late Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Shaikh Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd Allah ibn Baaz, Shaikh Abdullah Ibn Jibreen, the former chief judge of Riyadh and the retired Head of the Kingdom's Higher Judiciary Council Shaikh Abdullah ibn Aqil, Shaikh Muhammad ibn al Uthaymeen (for a short period) as well as various other senior scholars. Dr al-Haddad currently serves as a judge at the Islamic Sharia Council in London, acts as an advisor to various organisations such as Islam Net, and serves as a trustee and chairman for MRDF.

Serien er ledet av Dr. Haitham al-Haddad som er bosatt i London. Shaykhen har studert islamsk vitenskap i over 15 år. Med særlig interesse for islamsk lovgivning og juss ble han uteksaminert med en BA (bachelor) i islamsk lov. Deretter skrev han sin doktoravhandling om islamsk rettsvitenskap i forhold til muslimske minoriteter, og ble tildelt en doktorgrad fra School of Oriental and African Studies (Universitetet i London). Dr. al-Haddad har studert under ledelse av flere høytstående lærde, blant annet den avdøde mufti fra Saudi Arabia, Shaykh Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd Allah ibn Baaz, Shaikh Abdullah Ibn Jibreen, den tidligere hoveddommer i Riyadh, og den avgåtte lederen for kongedømmets Higher Judiciary Council Shaykh Abdullah ibn Aqil, Shaykh Muhammad ibn al Uthaymeen (i en kort periode), samt mange andre høytstående lærde.
