Istana’a, Surah Taha, Ayah 41

When Prophet Musa (PBUH) was given the most difficult of missions to confront Pharaoh on behalf of the Israelites, he was afraid. In order to assuage those fears, Allah says istana’tuka linafsi. The word istana’a does not only mean to choose, but also means to produce and prepare. Allah is telling Musa (PBUH) that he has been preparing him his entire life for that mission, a concept that we can all relate to in our own lives.
