Muslim Youth and Mental Health

The recent Danforth shooting in Toronto gave rise to a discussion in the Muslim and broader community on an issue that unfortunately is still stigmatized – mental health. On our segment today, let’s sit down and talk to Dr. Farah Islam. She completed her doctorate at York University in the field of epidemiology and her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. She explores mental health and service access in Canada’s radicalized and immigrant populations and orients her community work around breaking down barriers of mental health and stigma.
