Dana speaks about her life as a muslim female sportswomen and the barriers and achievements of her journey at an even in Leeds ISOC titled "Islam and Feminism" during Discover Islam Week 2013

Dana is an inspirational PE teacher, role model and International Rounders player and coach. Even more special is that she's a Muslim, wearing a headscarf using sport as a resource to help combat ignorance and establish tolerance and understanding about different religions. She works so hard for each student she teaches, giving up her free time, organising trips and a sports tour to canada - just so she can show the students at Dinnington School how sport is a global language. She is an all round sports person, playing everything from netball through to Rounders, she's been coaching the England teams for 5 years, has helped to create the governing body coaching courses, regularly supports schools and others with Rounders CPD.

She is a fantastic advert for achievement in spite of adversity, having experienced racism on the field - her students adore her and she's working so hard to make PE and school sport matter.
