Khutbah: Tafsir of Surat Al-Mā`ūn & Importance of Muharram & Ashura

"So woe to those who pray (but) who are heedless of their prayer - Those who make show (of their deeds)" ~ [Surat Al-Mā`ūn, verses 4-6]

In these verses Allāh (subḥānahu wa ta'āla) criticizes those that pray ṣalāh but are careless with regards to their prayer and don't pay attention. Those who don't care about the spiritual requirements of ṣalāh, they just pray physically and their heart & mind is thinking about their work or family.

If we were to visit a famous celebrity or a person of importance we would make sure we are dressed to the occasion displaying the best demeanor and be conscious of every word we say to show respect to this entity - surely our Creator deserves infinite more respect when we stand in front of Him five times a day!
