Armed anti-Islam protesters who surrounded Texas mosque publish list of addresses of Muslim 'sympathizers'

An armed-anti Islamic group that protested the arrival of Syrian refugees in the US published the names and addresses of people they called 'Muslim sympathizers' yesterday.
The list, which has since been taken down after a public backlash, was posted on Facebook by David Wright, group spokesman for the Bureau of American Islamic Relations (BAIR).
Wright said the list showed the people who had supported an Islamic tribunal in Irving, which has been characterized as a 'Sharia court'.
Mr Wright was among a number of gun-toting demonstrators that surrounded a mosque in Texas on Saturday screaming: 'Stop the Islamization of America!'
The group of around 15 people outside the Islamic Center of Irving carried placards in an apparent protest against accepting Syrian refugees.

Alia Salem, executive director of the Dallas/Fort Worth branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, was one of those whose personal details were published.
'This is the first time I've been slightly alarmed,' she told The Dallas Morning News. 'As bad as things have gotten in the past, and especially recently, this is the first time where I see people taking this public.'
'The name and address of every Muslim and Muslim sympathizer that stood up for Sharia tribunals in Irving TX', Mr Wright said in the now deleted post.

The tribunal mediates disputes among their worshippers according to Islamic codes, and is advertised as being voluntary, nonbinding, and in harmony with the law.
Similar style Catholic and Jewish mediation tribunals also operate in Texas.
Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne distanced herself from the group and refused to comment on the list and local councillors expressed their concern at the publication of public information online in 'an attempt to spread fear'.
Mayor Van Duyne sparked controversy earlier this year when she supported a bill that would forbid Texas judges from using foreign law in their rulings, despite this already being enshrined in law.
Although the bill did not mention religion, the bill's author, state Rep. Jeff Leach (R), said the bill would solve the 'problem' of the Islamic Tribunal in Dallas, Texas according to the Dallas Morning News.
It comes just over a week after the Islamic State terrorist attacks on Paris, which sparked a surge in Islamophobia in the United States.
In response to the protest and the subsequent post, approximately 250 people have signed up to attend a 'Rally for Peace' at the Islamic Center of Irving tomorrow.
