ABOUT IDC

IDC North East [Islamic Diversity Centre - North East] is a regional organisation, initially setup in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002 and has developed and grown ever since. Our goal is simple: to bring the wider society authentic information, advice and guidance in the areas of Islamic awareness, diversity and consultancy, through
education and awareness. IDC North East officially became active in the public domain
through its open events and education programmes in 2005 and has developed projects,
teams and open discussion on relevant topics related to societal issues.

IDC North East is the only full time dedicated organisation representing, teaching,
educating and inviting to Islam and the Muslim culture in the North East.

We are dedicated in presenting the pure teachings of Islam in response to many of the
myths and misconceptions that are commonly held. In addition to raise awareness, these events are aimed to reduce the fear of alienation towards and within the Muslim
community.

IDC North East has grown and expanded exponentially since 2008 and moved from being a local setup to becoming a regional organisation with around 50 members, with teams
located in Newcastle, Teesside, South Shields, Whitley Bay and Sunderland.

IDC North East recruits the best and most enthusiastic volunteers from within the
community who are dedicated, sincere, passionate and able to represent the beautiful religion of Islam in the most appropriate way. IDC North East carefully selects men
and women who bring important skills to the organisation in order to promote and further Islam. As a result of our recruiting policy and growth in the regional team, IDC North East has split up into sub-groups in order to maximize skill set, efficiency and professionalism within the team.
