Black Figures and Impacts in Islamic History

Are there black figures in Islamic history? In our segment today, we’ll have an in-depth discussion about Black Muslims and the idea of blackness, through a historical, Islamic lens. To have this engaging discussion, we have with us Imam Dawud Walid, co-author of the book, Centering Black Narrative, Black Muslim Nobles Among the Early Pious Muslims. He is also the Executive Director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and a member of the Michigan Muslim Community Council Imams Committee.
