The Branches of Faith (Ramadan 2018 - Part 2): The Tree of Iman - Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi

It was mentioned during the introduction that Iman consists of seventy-odd branches. The word ‘branches’ implies tree. In fact, the symbolism of Iman with a tree is mentioned in multiple verses and AHadith from the Quran and Sunnah.

In a Hadith from Sahih Al-Bukhari, narrated by Ibn Umar, the Prophet(S.A.W) asked the Sahaba. He said: “There is a tree that resembles The Mu’min” and he gave them a hint, “it is evergreen” The Sahaba attempted to guess until they asked him to tell them which tree. So the Prophet(S.A.W) said: “The date palm tree is the tree that resembles a Mu’min, it is perpetually green”
